Photography has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. As a child, I dreamed of becoming a professional photographic war journalist, travelling the world and telling powerful stories through images. Life, however, had other plans.
When my first child was born, I bought a DSLR camera and imagined spending my maternity leave learning photography and capturing every precious moment.
But again, life took a different path.
The years that followed were wonderfully busy. I welcomed another child, our family moved around the country, and photography was placed on the back burner while I focused on raising my family and navigating life's adventures.
Now, 15 years later, I find myself retired and finally returning to the passion that first inspired me. The same DSLR camera I bought when my eldest child was born is still by my side, standing the test of time remarkably well.
These days, you'll usually find me on the sidelines of sporting fields, or stages, capturing my children's sporting journeys and preserving the moments that pass by far too quickly.
Photography may not have become my career, but it has remained a lifelong passion waiting patiently for the right season of life. I'm grateful to have rediscovered it, and I believe it's true what they say—better late than never.
Through my lens, I hope to capture not only the action on the field, but also the determination, joy, friendships and memories that make sport such an important part of our lives.
